Week 1 Update - Ms. Micha’s Saturday Class

Hello Parents & Families!

We had a sweet first day on The Farm today. This morning we played an icebreaker game called The Big Wind Blows. We shared about things we’ve done before or places we’ve been & got acquainted with one another. We then had our Morning Circle where we introduced ourselves.

We discussed our Class Agreements to create some guidelines for smooth sailing & safety. We fed the chickens with the assistance of Farmer Austen & prepared their food for fermentation for the following day. This helps break down the food before consumption, so it’s easier to digest. After Snack, we took a hike around to explore the farm. Returning students noted the changes since last season. We observed the growing vegetables & stopped by the Weather Station.

We romped through the wooded pathways to the German House, then came back to the classroom to do some raking. After Lunch, we started a fire together, & discussed the Fire Safety Agreements:

We boiled some water for Lavender & Tulsi tea, & even roasted apples on the fire. We then enjoyed some wild & free time. We finished with a Closing Circle, sharing our most favorite memories of the day.
